10.07.2014 IOF General Assembly decisions
The 2014 IOF General Assembly was held today in Lavarone, Italy. Delegates from thirty-six voting member nations were present together with a number of observers and media personnel. Several important decisions were taken.

09.07.2014 World Orienteering Championships Long Distance: Gueorgiou retains his title
Thierry Gueorgiou, France retained his Long distance title in the forests near Lavarone, northern Italy today ahead of two former champions, Daniel Hubmann, Switzerland and Olav Lundanes, Norway. The women’s race was won by Svetlana Mironova, Russia, with Tove Alexandersson, Sweden in silver medal position and Judith Wyder, Switzerland taking the bronze.

09.07.2014 IOF signed MOU with the World Cup 16-20 group
The IOF signed yesterday a memorandum of understanding with the group that aims to create a new concept for the IOF Orienteering World Cup. 09.07.2014 IOF signed MOA with the World Cup 16-20 group
The IOF signed yesterday a memorandum of understanding with the group that aims to create a new concept for the IOF Orienteering World Cup. The IOF Competition Programme Review Group will have the World Cup issue as one of its tasks during the upcoming two years.

09.07.2014 IOF Pre-General Assembly meeting
A meeting for delegates from national federations and observers was held today, where items to be debated at the IOF General Assembly tomorrow were presented in more detail and there was the opportunity for discussion.

Sprint relay with two men and two women has been in The World Games programme since 2001, but was now introduced for the first time at the World Orienteering Championships.
