Russia’s women and Sweden’s men were winners of the final races of this World Cup round, the Relays. Both races were closely fought, with the outcome in doubt until the finish.

26.01.2016 SkiO World Cup: Sprint Relay dominated by Sweden
The Swedish team continued its fine form in Germany with a clear win by the first team of Tove Alexandersson and Erik Rost in today’s Sprint Relay. Finland and Norway took second and third places.

Six of the nine individual races in this season’s Ski Orienteering World Cup have now been held. Tove Alexandersson and Erik Rost of Sweden occupy the top positions after both athletes have enjoyed fantastic results in Germany.

Erik Rost, Sweden proved again today that he is in the best form of his life, winning for the third day in succession in today’s Long Distance race. Mariya Kechkina, Russia won the women’s race after being second five times this season.

The Swedish athletes Tove Alexandersson and Erik Rost were victorious for the second day running, this time over Middle Distance. Both wins were by more than half a minute.

15.01.2016 WMSOC and SkiO World Cup Round 2 Update
Those of us who have been following the snow conditions in Germany with bated breath can now breathe a sigh of relief. The organisers confirmed yesterday that they finally have enough snow for the WMSOC and SkiO World Cup Round 2 races to take place. Event Director Bernd Kohlschmidt tells us more about the preparations for the event.

08.01.2016 Athlete of the Month – December 2015
The last Athlete of the Month for 2015 is Ski Orienteer Ulrik Nordberg from Sweden. The young athlete has had a fantastic opening to this season, and despite difficult snow conditions he is training hard to continue doing well in the competitions ahead.
