21.08.2013 Unofficial Sprint Relay World Cup to be introduced in 2014
The IOF Council has approved the IOF Foot Orienteering Commission's proposal to introduce an unofficial Sprint Relay World Cup series in the year 2014. Sprint Relay will be part of the World Orienteering Championships programme for the first time in Italy next year and the new event format was decided to be tested in advance in conjunction with World Cup 2014.

20.08.2013 Orienteering World Cup Final sprint to be broadcast live
The sprint race of the Orienteering World Cup Final on 6 October 2013 in Baden, Switzerland, will be broadcast live by Swiss national TV, with the same production team as at the World Orienteering Championships 2012.

11.08.2013 World Masters Orienteering Championships: seven win double gold
Seven of the Sprint gold medallists from earlier in the week, three women and four men, repeated the feat in the Long distance finals held on a hot day in Sagna Longa in the Italian Alps. One of these was M35 Petteri Muukkonen, Finland who achieved the same results in 2012 as well.

06.08.2013 First WMOC medals decided in the urban Sprint in Sestriere
The first final of the World Masters Orienteering Championships 2013, Sprint, took place yesterday in Italy at the heart of the Olympic Mountains. The competitors fought over medals in the narrow streets and small parks of Sestriere village located 2000 m above sea level and only 17 km from the French boarder.
