The first ever Turkish Ski Orienteering World Ranking Event was held yesterday at a new ski resort Ergan at Erzincan, Turkey.

14.02.2014 New terrains for Junior World Ski Orienteering Championships in Estonia
As there is unfortunately no snow in Põlva, Estonia, the organising committee of the Junior World Championships and World Masters Championships has decided to move the competitions to Pannjärve, in Ida-Virumaa county, approx. 180 km from Põlva.

13.02.2014 Deadline for WOC, WSOC and WTOC applications extended
The IOF Council has decided to extend the deadline for World Orienteering Championships 2018, World Ski Orienteering Championships 2017 and World Trail Orienteering Championships 2017 and 2018 applications.

06.02.2014 WMTBOC Long distance qualification system under revision
The IOF is currently revising the qualification system for the World MTB Orienteering Championship Long distance final. The main motivation for the revision is that the old system does not allow the flexibility to allocate start slots to quickly developing overseas nations that are unable to take part in the World Championships every year.

05.02.2014 Start lists for WREs in early 2014 based on season 2013 final standings
The IOF is in the process of developing a new World Ranking system. In the meanwhile, all Foot Orienteering World Ranking Events will use the official IOF World Ranking List as at 31 December 2013 as the basis for start lists.

05.02.2014 Provisional approval for Emit Touch Free Punching System in MTBO
The IOF Council has decided to grant provisional approval for the use of Emit Touch Free Punching System in MTB Orienteering World Ranking Events.

04.02.2014 Team sizes not limited to 7+7 at the WOC 2014
Due to the IOF Council's decision in October 2013 to remove the limitations for team sizes (number of athletes) for World Orienteering Championships, which has subsequently been implemented into the updated IOF Competition Rules valid from 1 Jan 2014, the WOC 2014 organiser has decided to accept entries in excess of the 7+7, a limit which was stated in Bulletin 2.

04.02.2014 World Masters Orienteering Championships first entry deadline approaching
The early bird deadline for the World Masters Orienteering Championships 2014 to be held 1-8 November in Porto Alegre, Brazil, is 20 February.
