05.06.2014 Record number of countries entered to the World Championships
The World Orienteering Championships and World Trail Orienteering Championships are attracting a record number of countries to Italy this summer.

03.06.2014 Junior World Championships Development Project
The IOF Foot Orienteering Commission (FOC) was asked earlier this year by the IOF Council to further develop the programme of the Junior World Orienteering Championships (JWOC). The project group's report should be presented to the Council by October 2014. Introduction of a possible new programme should take place by 2018 at the latest.

The IOF World Ranking Scheme Rules valid from 1 January 2014 have now been supplemented with details regarding MTB Orienteering World Ranking Events.

Following the successful ski orienteering event at the the 52nd Military World Ski Championships, the IOF has now received formal information from CISM that ski orienteering will be on the programme of the 53rd Military World Ski Championships as well.

Finland’s first team, favourites to win the mixed relay, came into the finish today in the anticipated first place with a good margin down to second-placed France. Czech Republic took third position.

Long distance with mass start, the second event in this year's MTB Orienteering World Cup, was exciting from the start to the finish.

16.05.2014 Hara and Foliforov strongest at World Cup opening
Mountain bike orienteering World Cup kicked off today in North Zealand, Denmark, with a sprint race. Women's Word Ranking leader Marika Hara, Finland, showed that she is at least as strong this year as she was in 2013.
