14.07.2016 Orhan Kutlu: first Turkish athlete in a JWOC A Final
Today Orhan Kutlu ran the Middle Distance final, the first Turkish athlete to ever do so in a Junior World Orienteering Championships. After a very clear race he finished 37th, only 4:44 after the winner.

14.07.2016 Middle Final: second gold for Aebersold, win this time for Curiger
Simona Aebersold, already Sprint champion, added the Middle title today with another emphatic win, this time by 1.50. Thomas Curiger and Joey Hadorn exchanged places compared to the other two individual finals, with Curiger on this occasion taking the gold.

11.07.2016 “I was much more nervous after the race”
Anna Haataja had to wait for some hours before she could get tears of happiness in her eyes. In her fourth JWOC she at last achieved the gold. Joey Hadorn won his second gold medal in under 30 hours.

11.07.2016 JWOC Long Distance: golds to Finland and Switzerland
Anna Haataja, Finland won the women’s race after finishing third in the Sprint and Joey Hadorn, Switzerland took his second gold of the Championships, in a gruelling Long Distance race at Val Müstair today.

10.07.2016 Repeat win for Simona; Joey won with ‘wrong’ route choice
The Swiss winners have almost the same summary of the race: a very good one. And of course it was – they both became world champions! Simona Aebersold didn’t know of any mistakes. Joey Hadorn soon heard about one decision he lost some seconds on, but also he had to take the biggest jump on to the podium.

10.07.2016 Junior World Championships: Double Swiss victory in Sprint
Simona Aebersold and Joey Hadorn provided the perfect start for the home team in the Sprint race at Scuol, Switzerland today. Aebersold’s victory was emphatic, whilst Hadorn was the fastest of four Swiss in the top six.

06.07.2016 European Youth Orienteering Championships: Youth report
In connection with the European Youth Orienteering Championships, some young aspiring journalists from the Czech Republic got the chance to do some reporting. Jiri Krejcik interviewed the long distance winners Zuzanna Morawska and Daniel Vandas, posing interesting and insightful questions to the athletes.
