Natalia Tomilova (Russia) has been found to have committed an Anti-Doping Rule Violation under Article 2.1 of the IOF Anti-Doping Rules and the CISM Anti-Doping Rules (presence of a Prohibited Substance in an athlete’s sample).

13.06.2013 Mountain Bike Orienteering stars head for Poland
The best mountain bike orienteers in Europe, 64 men and 47 women from 20 different nations, are converging on Poland for the European Championships, the first round of this year’s World Cup, which starts on Monday.

12.06.2013 Alexandersson and Kyburz head World Cup standings
At the end of the second round of this year’s World Cup, Tove Alexandersson, Sweden and Matthias Kyburz, Switzerland hold strong leads in the standings. Alexandersson has a 91-point lead over Simone Niggli, and Kyburz leads his compatriot Daniel Hubmann by 100 points.

The IOF prepared a new brochure about orienteering just in time for the SportAccord Convention that was held in St Petersburg, Russia. The brochure can now be found online on the IOF website.

08.06.2013 Daniel Hubmann back at his best
Overall winners of the Nordic Tour, at the end of the chasing start long distance race today, were Simone Niggli and Daniel Hubmann. The Swiss pair both produced first-class performances to secure victory, Niggli extending her lead by nearly 2 minutes and Hubmann overtaking Matthias Kyburz and coming to the finish 1.22 ahead.

07.06.2013 Swiss double in Turku sprint
Winners of the Nordic Tour sprint race in Turku this afternoon were favourites Simone Niggli and Matthias Kyburz. Niggli had a 16-second advantage over Emma Klingenberg, whilst Kyburz’s win was by 1 second over joint second-placed Daniel Hubmann and Jerker Lysell.

07.06.2013 Nordic Tour moves on to Finland
Finland is in focus today and tomorrow with the last two events of the Nordic Tour (second round of the 2013 World Cup) taking place in and around Turku. Several of the teams taking part will also be attending training camps and holding selection races prior to the World Championships to be held in Finland next month.
