2026 SkiO World Cup: Norwegians Ulvensøen and Baklid are clear winners
Anna Ulvensøen and Jørgen Baklid are the 2026 World Cup winners, finishing the season with clear margins after the 9 individual races (7 best to count) held in Bulgaria, Sweden and Japan. Under-23 winners are Amanda Yli Futka and Pyry Riissanen, both from Finland.
Ulvensøen didn’t have everything her own way in the women’s races, but won 5 and had one third place and was clearly the strongest skier in the field. Anna Magdalena Olsson, placed second in the overall standings in her last season for Sweden, won once and finished 6 races in third place, whilst rising star Futka, third overall, won 2 races and was second once. Sweden has three athletes in the top six, with others not far behind, and Sweden’s women contributed extensively to their country winning the Team competition. This is Ulvensøen’s first overall win; she finished second in 2024 and 2025.

Baklid’s form swung a little through the season, but three wins and three second-place finishes give him a 65-point lead over closest challenger Niklas Ekstrӧm, Finland, who won twice. Third this season is Norwegian Styrk Kamsvåg, whose results included one win. Finland and Norway finish with two athletes in the top six, and there is one place for each of Switzerland and Sweden. This is Baklid’s fourth World Cup title; he won three years running, 2022-2024, but was beaten last year by Sweden’s Jonatan Ståhl. A special mention here for sixth-placed Andrei Lamov, who is now retiring from international competition, just before his 40th birthday.
