World Cup 2022 program

The Covid-19 pandemic has during 2020 caused plenty of cancellations and lots of turbulence. Programs for Championships and the World Cup have been changed and altered several times.

The World Cup consortium, consisting of IOF and Verein Swiss Cup, is proud to present a strong program for the 2022 World Cup.

The program kicks off  with sprints in Western Sweden in May, a month ahead of the sprint focused World Championships in Denmark. The Cup continues in August in Estonia, where tough terrains will be waiting. The races in Estonia were originally planned for 2020. The final of the World Cup 2022 will be held at high altitude in Switzerland. The races also acts as rehersal for the World Championships in 2023.

The three rounds are certainly differing, placing demands on a variety of skills. Fast decision making in Sweden, strong technical skills and navigation skills in Estonia and strong hill running capacity in Switzerland.

Most of the races, if not all, will be broadcasted live on orienteering.sport and on national TV in several countries.

More can be read in the Pre-Bulletin
