Finally the very best

Sergey Gorlanov has been picking a lot of medals at international level, but one thing was missing ahead of the relay that ended the Junior World Championships in Norway.

Russia had an incredible team with Sergey Gorlanov and two of the JWSOC winners earlier in the week. Sergey started as number two on the second leg and was the fastest of all on this leg. Anchorman Vladislav Kiselev was sent out with a lead of more than one minute to Finland on second place.

For Gorlanov it was the tenth medal he has won from European Youth Championships and Junior World Championships. “And finally it was gold”, the 19-year-old Russian smiles.

He is from Khabarovsk in the very eastern part of Russia, a part of Asia, and he is Asian champion in orienteering in the youth class.
