Better and better for Aleksi Karppinen

Aleksi Karppinen didn’t feel in perfect rhythm at the start of the race, but it ended in the best way for the Finn. The 19-year-old from Muhos, a town on the coast well north in Finland, won the Junior Long Distance with a margin of 38 seconds to the winner of the Sprint, Vladislav Kiselev.

“The race was good, but I needed some time to get used to the challenges. At the start I didn’t navigate perfectly, but when I got used to what to do I did much better”, he says.

At JWSOC last year he got a silver medal. Now he is even more experienced. “I am very happy with the gold”.
